Nine sensors are
available for speed and relative velocity. They all look
the same, but each functions differently.
1) Ground
Speed Sensors measure a vehicles speed over rough or smooth surfaces.
2) Monitor II sensor
is for approaching only traffic.
3) Monitor
III pr programmable sensor measures approaching, receding or bi-directional
traffic.
4) Monitor IV sensor
system covers moving mode operation, including ground
speed sensing.
5) Monitor
V sensor covers slow speed approaching traffic or pedestrians.
6) The Slow
Rail Monitor measures the speed of trains in industrial areas, switching
yards and small rail lines where velocities are less than 50 mph.
7) The High
Speed Rail Monitor captures the speed of the fastest trains.
8) Remotely sense and control
industrial processes with the Industrial
Control Sensor.
9) And, there are Speed
Prototypes that can be configured to cover a wide variety of applications.

Speed Signs
as shown above use the Traffic Monitor
sensors to help remind drivers they are going too fast for existing conditions.

Active
Road Signs use the Monitor II or V to flash bright LED's when vehicles approach at unsafe
speeds or in the wrong direction.
