High Speed Rail Signal

This signal uses both remote radar sensors placed a mile away from the crossing and local radar sensors located at the crossing to detect approaching trains traveling up to 200 mph.  The remote sensors relay the speed and other information via an 802.11 link from the train to the crossing in order to initiate the lights. The local sensors maintain signal control when the train is in the proximity of the crossing. Multiple sensors are used for multiple tracks.  All components, including the remotely located sensors and crossing signal are fully solar powered and require no track circuits.  The  remote sensors are mounted on standard masts that require only a small foundation for installation.  Extra remote sensors may be added for multiple tracks.

The equipment ships assembled.  Installation time on finished foundations is normally 1 day.
