O'Conner Engineering builds radar products that measure speed and distance, remote control systems and wireless Internet access devices. 

Based in Union City, Tennessee USA, it has offices and facilities also at Cayce, Kentucky and Pfullendorf, Germany. 

Since its beginning 20 years ago in a home basement laboratory, the company has focused on the development of small, generally short range radar sensors that cover a variety of applications.  Several of these developments have been turned into products that are delivered around the world.  Among our inventions and patents:

 

  • a blind spot detector for cars and trucks,

  • a docking system for ships, 

  • a simple method for detecting relative velocity,  

  • a sensor to help taxiing aircraft avoid wing collisions, and 

  • a high resolution ranging sensor.

Some of these inventions are manufactured, some are licensed to other companies and the rest are made as custom prototypes.  Recently, the company has added Internet access devices, including the Paranet which delivers DSL quality service to rural areas.
